Taking the Plunge- Micellar Cleansing Water

I am a little slow on the uptake sometimes of products in which I feel as if social media might influence me to try. Are they truly having my best interests of my skin in mind? Nope. All a marketing ploy. However, I have absolutely done the same with past employers. Get the brand and product out there in front of their faces enough times and they will buy. It is almost like your world of must-haves will get smaller when you think this way and your wallet will thank you.

Micellar water products have already been all the rage. Everyone is either making them, or getting sponsored to promote them as social media influencers. Well, shout out to one of my readers, Deborah, for sending this to me. Otherwise, this post probably wouldn’t have made it onto my blog.

Micellar Cleansing Water

How can soaking a cotton pad with a clear solution you shook up like a mad man in a bottle, really take off all of your makeup? Plus, there’s all the claims of taking off waterproof mascara with ease. Yeah freaking right! Let’s debunk the claims.

3.38oz for $3.99USD (at Ulta.com) for Garnier SkinActive Micellar Water  is in the OMG CHEAP category if it WORKS. It is recommended for all skin types, yet super powerful at cleansing and removing makeup. It appears, that this takes the place of the rest of your cleansers and removers you would keep on the vanity. Unfortunately, I cannot tell if this is cruelty free or not. Be careful, as I think Garnier does test on animals.

I have been into scanning everything around the bathroom into the Think Dirty app. If you’re looking for a reason to throw out everything in your home in disgust, go ahead and download the app. Ugh. However, here are the results (3/10 for toxins):

Micellar 1
After a super long day of makeup wear, essentially 15hrs, touch ups, and environmental stress, I was ready to get these lashes off. My go-to glue is Duo and I just will never find anything that works better for me. But, cleansers do have a tendency to not remove all the remnants after using straight coconut oil.

Here’s a before Micellar Water pic- note super sleepy state of mind:
Micellar 2

After soaking my dollar store cotton pad, holding it on my eye for 15secs, I went nuts!
Micellar 3

Honestly, do I even need to finish this post? This shit does work. Almost too well. It says what it will do. There are no “friends” popping up on my face the next day. I am almost to the point where I can save my coconut oil for cooking, oil pulling and DIY lotions/scrubs.

If you are worried about taking the plunge into the Micellar Water- what are you waiting for? Go for it! Jump in the pool! The water is just awesome! This bottle is going to last you quite a long time. I have been trying it out for approximately four weeks and barely have made a dent in the bottle.

Let me know in the comments below who makes your favorite Micellar Water! Or, if there is another product out there that you think I should try. Happy Tuesday!
