Day 19: When we think of romance it’s easy to get caught up in what the world tells us it is…rose petal candlelit baths, extravagant dates, Eiffel Tower proposals, and expensive jewelry. But the beauty of TRUE romance is that at it’s core, it’s simply thoughtfulness.
When you listen and interact with your spouse or significant other with care and empathy you realize that the most romantic gestures aren’t ones that you’ll necessarily see in a movie, but ones that simply show you’ve been paying attention.
So… Today’s #OolaChallenge is to do one romantic thing for the love of your life (if you are single, here’s a good chance to do something thoughtful for yourself). Strip away the world’s expectations and get creative – this isn’t about grandiose. This doesn’t need to cost you crazy amounts of money or require extensive amounts of planning. It will cost you thoughtfulness, which will always add up to more.
So today, go be a hopeless romantic in the way you let your thoughtfulness change your relationship, because to give and receive love produces passion and that is #Oola.
Let me know in the comments what your plans are! Chris is always doing something awesome for me. I think that today I will help him with all the construction going on at the house. He has huge sheets of plastic out there covering the concrete pad that should be folded up with the drier conditions. It doesn’t sound like much, but I know that he will really appreciate the “hand.”
