Have you heard the common phrase, “no new friends”? A lot of times we find the people that have the most in common with us and we call it a day.
But what about the people we know, meet, or see that are completely different than us? The people that are so different that we may even find ourselves judging them at first glance. The people who’s stories and lives we have a hard time understanding because they are so different than ours.
Those are the kind of people Oola wants you to find today!
Today’s #OolaChallenge is to get to know one thing about someone different than yourself. Ask them their story, what they’re passionate about, what keeps them up at night, or even something as simple as do they like their job or what makes them smile. We encourage you to engage with them and simply listen with an open heart and mind, because one of the best ways to make a difference is to embrace what makes us different.
Since moving to the Lake full time, meeting new people for Chris and I, has posed many challenges. We both work from home and go weeks without leaving the road. Sure, we have made some new connections that we know will last a lifetime, but it’s only a short list.
Charlotte Restaurant Week is upon us, and we are heading out Friday night to devour some awesomeness at one of our local chophouses. That will surely give us a chance to get to know everyone within 10ft of us! Happy Hump Day!
