How’s your reputation? When people run a Google search on your name, do you get worried? LinkedIn? Is there anything you don’t want revealed about your culture or brand on Glassdoor?
Your leadership journey is not for you if you are fainthearted. You must be all in.
There will be attackers coming at you from all directions. That’s why smart leaders have integrity running through their very existence. It is the adherence to moral and ethical principals. If a company has unethical standards, or just status quo, my advice to you is to get out. There will always be other opportunities for you to lead with integrity.
Integrity is something smart leaders will choose throughout their career and not just midyear. You will note this when they are dealing with others. There is always a level of respect for all parties- not just those within 3ft of them.
Many of us have to make decisions that define who we are and what we believe in. Take the higher road and doing the right thing, even when no one is looking, as the saying goes. It is a choice and I hope it is one that you will run with throughout your career!
